The Palm River Hotel has been inspired by the architectural style of the Queenslander, distinct in its savvy use of timber and corrugated iron and its consideration of climatic conditions.

Our highly skilled and professional team of Zimbabwean architects and interior designers have taken these principles and modified them to create a hotel that is at once aesthetic and functional, modern and timeless, cosmopolitan, and perfectly suited to the local environment. The innovative blend of traditional East-Coast Australian design and the unique landscape of the upper Zambezi River has resulted in a brand new and distinctive landmark for Victoria Falls.

Well-appointed with modern international standard 4-star hotel furnishings, all Deluxe Rooms include a private balcony where guests can enjoy views of the Zambezi River and the gardens, a spacious bedroom with a writing desk, fixed luggage storage, right and left bedside tables, bedside reading lights and a fully equipped tea and coffee station. The clean lines of the contemporary bathroom feature an open and spacious shower, a double vanity for both guests to enjoy their own space, and all the amenities necessary to compliment your stay. A generous fixed wardrobe space includes shelves and ample hanging space.

The hotel’s location could not be more idyllic, situated as it is along the banks of the iconic Zambezi River, among towering indigenous trees and only 4 kilometers from Africa’s Natural World Wonder, Victoria Falls – so close, in fact, that on a clear, quiet day you can hear the thunder and see the spray of the mighty waterfall from your room.

Take a leisurely self-guided tour or opt for a 2-hour guided tour to learn about the history from an experienced local guide. Meander through the lush rainforest and visit the 15 spectacular viewing points to view the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side.

Some of the best viewpoints along the tour include the Devil’s Cataract at 70 metres deep and where you will see the famous David Livingstone statue, the Main Falls viewing point is hard to beat, with its expansive sheet of water thundering down 93 metres into the gorge below while Rainbow Falls is the deepest of them all, at 108 metres deep, and has been suitably named due to its ever-present rainbow that can be viewed here.
