Nainital

Surrounding the deep volcanic Lake Naini and tucked away on the steep slopes of a forested valley is the large mountain resort of Nainital. Peak season runs from May to July and October when families arrive in droves and fill up numerous hotels, guest houses and restaurants. Most visitors come here to unwind, walk the trails to magnificent viewpoints of the Himalayas, eat fabulous food and do some boating or horse riding.
