About Waterberg Wilderness Reserve

The Waterberg mountain range is situated in the central Limpopo province of South Africa and is one of the more pristine, scenic and wildlife rich areas in South Africa. Positioned on the eastern side of the Waterberg range the Waterberg Wilderness Reserve is only 2.5 hours from Johannesburg and conveniently positioned half way to Botswana.

The Waterberg Wilderness Camp is exclusive and can only accommodate a maximum of twelve guests in safari tents with an additional two campsites available. All accommodation is self-catering with comfortable and complete facilities.

Due to the rugged nature of the reserve which is typical of the Waterberg, a 4x4 vehicles or vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended to access the property. In the wet season a 4x4 vehicle is often essential.Certain areas of the reserve offer spectacular views over the surrounding hills and valleys and exploring the impressive gorges with natural streams and pools is certainly a highlight. The reserve is ideal for the more active with some beautiful walks and potential mountain bike trails.

Game drives are allowed in your own 4x4 vehicles and both guided game walks and game drives can be arranged with prior notice.

We had an amazing getaway. Saw lots of animals and beautiful sceneries. Allan and Inge are very generous hosts and friendly people. Will definitely be back again.

If you are looking for a relaxing break away in the bush..... Look no further. The owner is very friendly and helpfull. The trents are clean with hot water, kitchen, outdoor shower, bath, braai and views to die for. There is no electricity, but there is light and gas stove and fridge. Fantastic trails to drive and walk. Fans with clean water to swim and chip down. I highly recommend a 4x4 with good ground clearance as the roads to and on the farm are very rocky and gets a bit rough. We will definitely be back!

we loved the peace, privacy, the sunsets, and the beautiful bush! no complaints at all! The hospitality we received was amazing, and we will return for sure! Alan, the owner, was great! Wow! What a place.

We stayed in fully furnished tents, in a campsite in the Bush. We saw lots of animals and the views from the lookout points are amazing.

I loved the fact that we had our own private campsite and bathroom.
